2004 Records Retention Survey Results
According to the results of a 2004 survey of 2,200 records managers, nearly half of American companies have yet to adopt a formal records retention policiy covering electronic documents, including email messages. Perhaps even more disturbing … 46 percent of respondants admit they have no system in place to “hold” records (preventing them from being destroyed) during a pending litigation or a regulatory investigation, for instance.
