Statistics Of Interest To Content Management Professionals
John Mancini’s recent column, Random Stats and Focused Thinking, is chocked full of useful facts derived from the pages of the Statistical Abstract of the United States. In the article, Mancini challenges readers to consider:
- how many organizations are large enough to be governed by Sarbanes-Oxley, but may not know they are required to comply (176,400)
- how many county, municipal, town, school district and special government entities will be spending an estimated $64 billion on IT services by 2009 (87,525)
- how many healthcare providers are required to have plans in place to meet stringent HIPAA privacy requirements (5,801 hospitals, 11,400 home healthcare and hospice agencies, 18,000 nursing homes…. and all doctors, dentists, mental health care providers, and employers that provide healthcare plans for their employees)
Why are these statstics so important, you ask? Because they are facts that content management professionals can use to target and educate potential clients. But, don’t take my word for it, read what Mancini has to say and think about how you might use this information to your advantage.
