The Ly Detector: Help Arrives For Adverb-Abusing Web Writers

Are you a web writer with a tendency to use a few too many adverbs—those words often ending in “ly” (like hypothetically and interestingly)? If so, check out The Ly Detector, a useful (and potentially irritating) FireFox Greasemonkey extension.

According to LifeHacker: “Once it’s installed, The Ly Detector Greasemonkey script takes a yellow highlighter to adverbs, like obviously and previously to help web writers stay on their non-adverbial toes. The Ly Detector’s great for bloggers who are trying to improve their skills with the quill – or just those who want to make fun of them.
