Billed as the conference for “global business know-how”, Localization World 2009 Conference and Exhibits takes place October 20-22 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in the heart of Silicon Valley, California. The program includes sessions on global business best practices, managing global websites, advanced practices in localization management, and a track dedicated to developing localization core competencies. Scott Abel, The Content Wrangler, will be blogging live from the event, sharing updates, links, quotes, photos via Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, and other social networks.

Several sessions we find particularly appealing: Going the Extra Mile – Why Websites Need to Do More Than Sell Products — So You Speak My Language, Big Deal. Tell Me Something I Don’t Know with Ben Sargent (Common Sense Advisory); iPhone Localization — Practical Advice for Successful Global Applications with Boyd Timothy (Appigo), Aaron Schliem (Glyph Language Services); Overcoming the Language Afterthought Syndrome with Mary Laplante (The Gilbane Group); and, Building a Global User Community with Michael Smith (iStockphoto).

Mark your calendars! We hope to see you at the conference!
