Spotlight on Corporate Publishing: 5th Annual Intelligent Content Conference Heads To San Francisco This February

In a global, mobile, on-demand world, customers expect us to be able to deliver the right information to them, when and where they need it. When we fail, we disappoint them. But, when we succeed — when we dazzle them by doing it right — we change their expectations forever.

Content drives business. It’s the lifeblood of every organization. And yet most companies, governments, educational institutions, and non-profits have absolutely no idea how to create, manage and deliver it effectively. They’re trapped inside a traditional publishing box unable to see the innovations that are happening all around them — eBooks, apps and the mobile web. We aim to change that. That’s why The Rockley Group and The Content Wrangler have joined together for the fifth year in a row to assemble a top-notch roster of presenters from disparate ends of the content spectrum to share their knowledge and experience with you. Two days of presentations, case studies, demonstrations, and mini-workshops led by the best and brightest in the content world. Software and services vendors will also be on hand to provide demonstrations and discuss the capabilities of their tools in our Technology Showcase.

Intelligent Content 2013, February 7-8, San Francisco

The Fifth Annual Intelligent Content Conference takes place in San Francisco on February 7-8, 2013 at the Mission Bay Conference Center at UCSF. This year’s event focuses on helping organizations better understand the emerging discipline of corporate publishingwith an emphasis on teaching you what you need to know about the standards, methods, and tools needed to deliver the right information, to the right people, at the right time, in the right format and language, on the device of the customer’s choosing.

Three Tracks, Mini-Workshops and the Technology Showcase and Demonstration Pavilion

We’ve organized the event into three tracks:

  • It’s About The Content is dedicated to the king — content — in all its forms: words, photos, graphics, illustrations, video, and more.
  • The Mobile Web, eBooks, and Apps features talks about adaptive content, responsive design, tablet computing, interactive eBooks, and mobile apps and websites.
  • Corporate Publishing addresses the techniques, approaches, standards, and challenges associated with effectively creating corporate content that meets organizational goals.

Mini-workshops

We’ve included a variety of 75-90 minute mini-workshops designed to help attendees dive a little deeper into specific topics of importance. These sessions are more detailed than a typical presentation and designed to cover topics that require some focus to begin to master. We’ve included them in the cost of the conference. NOTE:Although there is no extra charge to attend our mini-workshops, advance registration is required. Mini-workshop seating is limited to encourage interaction. First come, first served.

The Technology Showcase at Intelligent Content 2013

We’re bringing together some of the world’s most innovative software and services providers in the Intelligent Content Technology Showcase, an exposition hall designed to help learn about the software and services available to help you create, manage and deliver intelligent content. Because seeing is believing, we’re including a Demonstration Pavilion inside the Technology Showcase. This dedicated space will be reserved for sponsors to conduct presentations and product demonstrations.

Pay Homage To Mother Nature: Muir Woods National Monument and Golden Gate Bridge Adventure

People do not just visit Muir Woods. They come from around the globe to pay homage to nature in this cathedral of redwoods. The trees’ ages range from 400 to 800 years, their height up to 250 feet. Flat easy trails loop through the groves. Muir Woods National Monument was established on January 9, 1908 when President Roosevelt signed legislation to protect an old-growth coast redwood forest from destruction. In the light gaps beneath the redwood trees are red alders, California big leaf maples, tanoaks, and Douglas fir. The forest floor is covered in redwood sorrel, ferns, fungi, duff, and debris. Several bridges cross Redwood Creek, which flows through the park year-round. Wildlife residents include the endangered coho salmon fingerlings, Pacific wren, woodpeckers, owls, deer, chipmunks, skunks, river otters, and squirrels to name a few.

The tour

We’ll depart via shuttle at 8:30am from the Hilton Financial Center and head to Marin County, home of Muir Woods. We’ll enjoy a semi-private, fully-narrated tour that will take us across Golden Gate Bridge up into Muir Woods, home to the tallest redwood forrest you’ve likely ever seen. We’ll spend two hours in the forest hiking, then head off to enjoy a picnic lunch in the woods. From there, we will head back toward San Francisco, making a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge.
